BE CAREFUL Positive: Nothing Negative: We booked this property via booking.com on the understanding that it was situated 14.3 miles from North Berwick. This was noted on the property description. Once booked we realised that this was not the case, unless we chose to either sail, swim or jet ski to the property. The distance has been noted "as the crow flies" and not by road miles. The actual road mile distance is 68.3 miles. On contacting both booking. com and MAP short stays to advise them that the property was incorrectly advertised and due to the distance being unsuitable for our needs neither would accept responsibility, in particular MAP short stays were adamant that the issue lay with booking.com and there was nothing they could do and would not agree to any form of refund. They were also adamant that the property distance was not advertised and even on providing photographic proof, held no ownership and firmly put the blame with booking.com. Booking.com again unhelpful and would not override MAP decision to issue refund. Long story short paid £550 for a four night booking for two adults in a property which was mis sold and had to find further suitable accommodation at our own cost.
